 We kicked off the start of the semester with a screening on 8/20 at the Dallas Chinese Community Center! We got to talk to multiple people about how Hepatitis B is acquired, the importance of screening, and who should get screened for the disease. Great thanks to Dr. Lee for volunteering his time to help with phlebotomy and answering questions about viral hepatitis! We ended up screening over 20 patients and will be following up with each of them with their lab test results this Saturday 9/3 at our Linkage-to-Care event.
We have multiple screenings lined up for later this semester, starting with the Dallas Police Department Asian Health Fair on 10/1 from 8 am to 1 pm. I was diagnosed with HSV2 in my eye and mouth from semen. I had no idea regretfully that it could be transferred through semen on your face. As I suffered two weeks of continuous pain and rash in the right eye and mouth suspecting herpes then I went to run a test and was diagnosed with hsv2.
